How does an air source heat pump work?

In simple terms, they are designed to take heat from the surrounding air, amplify its temperature using a compressor, and then transfer that heat to your hot tub.

How will an air source heat pump save me money?

Let’s say you have a 32Amp hot tub running with a 3kW heater. This will use 3kW of power and output 3kW worth of energy to heat your hot tub water. With a heat pump you disconnect the heater and put the heat pump in it’s place.

An air source heat pump uses around 1kW of power to produce up to 11kW worth of energy to heat your water (based on the 11kW Aquark Silence). So rather than a 1:1 power to energy ratio, you’re getting up to a 1:11 ratio. Therefore saving you money on your running costs.
